Technical & Semantic SEO

Diagnostic-driven technical audits with Screaming Frog and GSC, paired with semantic clusters and intent-mapped content. Fix the foundation, then build topical authority that compounds.

What it is

Technical & Semantic SEO, defined.

Diagnostic-driven technical audits paired with semantic SEO. Fix the foundation — crawl, index, Core Web Vitals, schema, internal links — then build topical authority through content clusters mapped to commercial intent.

Why it matters

The cost of not fixing this.

Most sites are running on a slow-leak technical foundation: half the schema is invalid, internal links don't follow topic clusters, Core Web Vitals are red on the highest-traffic pages, and crawl budget is wasted on parameterized variants Google shouldn't see. None of these alone tank a site — the cumulative effect drops you 5–15 ranking positions on queries you'd otherwise win.

How it works

Engagement mechanics.

Two formats. The audit is a one-shot deliverable in 14–21 days — a dev-ready ticket spec your engineering team can execute. The audit + retainer ships the priority fixes over the following 90 days, with a monthly KPI report and direct access to me through a dedicated Slack channel.

The process

Phased, not pitched.

Each phase has a defined scope, a defined deliverable, and a defined timeline. No mystery, no scope creep.

  1. 01

    Days 1–7

    Crawl + index

Screaming Frog deep crawl. GSC indexation analysis. Log-file sampling where access is available. Output: list of indexation gaps and crawl-budget waste.

  2. 02

    Days 8–12

    Schema + structured

Existing schema validated. Missing schema specced — Article, FAQPage, HowTo, Product, BreadcrumbList, etc., recommended per template. Validated in Schema Markup Validator.

  3. 03

    Days 13–17

    Core Web Vitals

Real-user CWV from CrUX + lab tests via Lighthouse. Top-10 worst-performing pages identified. Fix recommendations split server / client / render.

  4. 04

    Days 18–21

    Topical authority

Topic-cluster mapping. Intent-mapped content gap analysis. Internal-link spec showing how clusters route authority through the site.

  5. 05

    Days 22–90 (retainer)

    Implementation

Ship the priority fixes — schema deployed, CWV improved, internal-link spec implemented. Monthly KPI report. Mid-sprint progress review with your team.

What you walk away with

Measurable outcomes.

  • Indexation cleanup: thin/duplicate URLs removed, canonical/no-index strategy correct
  • Core Web Vitals passing on top-50 pages (LCP <2.5s, INP <200ms, CLS <0.1)
  • Schema coverage at 100% across templated page types, validated in Schema Markup Validator
  • Topic clusters defined for the top 5 commercial themes with internal-link routing in place
  • Dev-ready ticket spec your team can hand to engineering — no ambiguity, no "what does this mean"
Evidence

Receipts, not promises.

Audited and shipped for 38 clients across SaaS, e-commerce, healthcare, and packaging. Recent technical engagements: a US SaaS company (CWV pass rate 12% → 89% in 6 weeks), a UK retailer (47% indexation reduction without traffic loss), a Canadian clinic group (schema-led rich-results coverage from 0 to 80% of pages in 4 weeks).

FAQ

Honest answers, before the call.

What does a technical SEO audit include?

Crawl analysis (Screaming Frog), GSC + GA4 data review, log-file sampling, Core Web Vitals diagnostics, schema audit, internal-linking audit, and a prioritized fix list with effort/impact ratings.

Will you implement the fixes?

I produce dev-ready tickets and ship the schema/content fixes myself. Server/infra fixes go to your dev team with a written hand-off.

How does this work for headless / JS-heavy sites?

Indexation testing on rendered HTML, hydration timing analysis, prerender/SSR validation, and CWV tuning specific to React/Next.js or Vue/Nuxt stacks.

How often should we run a technical SEO audit?

A full audit annually, plus a lightweight quarterly review (CWV, indexation, schema validity). Re-audit immediately after any major release: replatforming, design refresh, CMS migration, or DNS change. Most "sudden ranking drops" trace to a release-time technical regression that nobody caught — quarterly checks intercept those before traffic disappears.

Do Core Web Vitals actually move rankings, or are they just a tiebreaker?

They're a tiebreaker — but tiebreakers compound. CWV won't lift a #15 ranking to #1; it will move a #6 to #4 when your competitor at #5 has slower LCP. The bigger lift is conversion: a page passing CWV converts 18–24% better than the same page failing on mobile. We tune CWV both for ranking and for revenue.

Should I worry about crawl budget on a site with under 10,000 pages?

For a clean, well-architected sub-10K site: no — Google will crawl what matters. Crawl-budget concerns kick in around 50K+ pages, on sites with parameter chaos (faceted nav generating millions of URLs), or on sites with serious indexation issues. We check log files in the audit; if your crawl-stats GSC report shows Googlebot wasting requests on junk URLs, then yes, we fix it.
